Programme for 2010

Our winter programme of entertaining and informative illustrated talks by local and national experts covers a wide range of topics related to gardening and plants. Talks are followed by refreshments and a members' plant stall. Many of our speakers also bring plants for sale

'Roses for pleasure - mix of modern and old' talk by Anne Bird, former president of the Rose Society

6th March 'Euphorbias' talk by Don Witton holder of the National Collection and keen Hardy Planter 
3rd April 'Hardy, rare, but obtainable plants' talk by nurseryman and garden writer Kevin Pratt
17th April           Group Seedling Exchange. Preston Village Hall 10am-12 noon
16th May Members' Open Garden. 'The Abbots House', Abbots Langely 2-5pm
5th June Grand Plant Sale. 10am - 12 noon United Reform Church, Homewood Road, St Albans AL1 4BH 
3rd July Coach outing to Hidcote Manor & Kiftsgate
1st August Members Open Garden. 'Stressa', 126 The Drive , Rickmansworth. WD3 4DP  2-5pm
4th September Nursery Visit to Hopley's, High Street, Much Hadham. SG10 6BU
2nd October 'Propagation of less usual plants' by Terry Baker, owner of the Botanic Nursery and holder of National Collection of Digitalis www.thebotanicnursery.com
