Over 60 members of the Herts group enjoyed a party to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the Hardy Plant Society on Sunday 20th August. It was held at Reveley Lodge, a Victorian house and gardens which was bequeathed to Bushey Museum in 2003.
The house was owned by Albert Chewitt, a Canadian who came to study art at the famous Herkomer Art School in Bushey. The beautiful paintings in the Billiard Room, where we enjoyed afternoon tea, were painted by him.
The gardens are being restored by a team including Herts group members Madeleine and John McCormack.
The photographs show HHPS members on the terrace and conservatory, and HHPS Chair Irene Cowan cutting a celebration cake with past Chairmen and members.
