Plant Sale Today + Coach Trip

dav   A HUGE thank you to everyone who helped at the Plant Sale on the Friday and Saturday.   We were a great team and the Sale was a success again.     Thank you to everyone who helped put up the tables, who donated the lovely plants, who helped to price them and display them on the tables, helped sell them on Saturday, kept us and the visitors supplied with drinks and the musclemen and women who helped with the clearing up at the end.  And also those who have taken away the black table-cloths to wash and return at our first winter meeting. It was a great event.

Also check your diaries to see if you are free on Saturday 7th July.   Maggie Lacey would love to hear from you as there are still some seats available on the wonderful coach trip she has arranged to John Massey’s garden, Ashwood Nurseries and Stone House Cottage garden.

Hope to you see you then, Beryl

Saturday’s Meeting CANCELLED

Dear Members

Who would imagine that on this, the first day of spring, we are contacting you all to let you know that the speakers have cancelled for this Saturday afternoon’s meeting March 3rd.  In view of this and the inclement weather the committee have decided to cancel the meeting completely.  Many apologies to you all.  (We hope to rebook them for next year.)

Those members who were expecting to collect your newsletter will have it sent by post as soon as possible.

Coach trip forms will be available at the next meeting on the 7th April, but for preference would you be good enough to download a form and send it  to Maggie Lacey.

We look forward to seeing you in March for the Seedling Swap (details in the newsletter ) and on April 7th for “Barking up the Wrong Tree “ with Dianne Nichol-Brown.

Best wishes and keep warm.

Andrew Brogan.  “The Story of the Making of Henstead Exotic Garden”

Andrew gardens near Beccles in Suffolk, almost as far east as it is possible to be in England. Nevertheless he manages to persuade many exotic plants to grow and thrive.
